Wrexham 1 (Morrell 23) Brighton 1 (Barnes 77) aet

Brighton won 5-4 on penalties

Brighton came from behind to book their place in the fourth round and secure a home tie against Newcastle with a 5-4 win on penalties at Wrexham in Wednesday's third round replay.

Andy Morrell gave Wrexham the lead in the 23rd minute, but Ashley Barnes equalised on 77 minutes for Brighton. 

Dean Keates' first penalty in the shootout was saved by Brighton keeper Peter Brezovan, but all remaining nine penalties were scored, with Craig Mackail-Smith (pictured) sealing the visitors' place in round four.

Birmingham secured a 1-0 win at Midlands rivals Wolves and will travel to Sheffield United in the fourth round.

Wade Elliott scored the only goal of the game in the 74th minute.
