Massive shock: Torres scores, twice

Fernando Torres paid back a couple of quid towards his £50 million transfer fee with not one but TWO goals (CORRECT: Fernando Torres scored, twice) as Chelsea booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a 5-2 victory against Leicester City.

Torres looked so happy, but a little confused. You see, he had gone 24 games without scoring. Oh, that's what it feels like, I remember now (or, whatever the Spanish is for that).

Gary Cahill showed Torres the way as his header gave Chelsea the lead and a rather good goal from Salomon Kalou made it 2-0. And then, something of a rarity in football, a Torres goal.

The Spaniard, who had not scored in 152 days (that's not far short of half a year) proved that lightning can strike twice with another one, a header this time.

Jermaine Beckford and Ben Marshall struck for Leicester but Raul Meireles added a fifth for Chelsea late on.

What price a scoring spree for Torres now, and his goals to launch Chelsea into the Champions League places, before he scores the winner in the FA Cup final?

Whether or not that happens, Robert Di Matteo has had a big smile on his face ever since AVB left the building.
