Afobe to join Bolton‏

Young Arsenal striker Benik Afobe is set to join Bolton Wanderers on loan, according to BBC Radio Manchester.

Afobe (pictured) is yet to make his senior competitive debut for the Gunners, but the 19-year-old has previously impressed during loan spells with both Huddersfield and Reading.

Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is keen on taking the England under-19 international to the Reebok Stadium, as he looks to freshen up his squad ahead of their return to the Championship.

The two clubs have developed a good relationship in recent years, Arsene Wenger having allowed both Jack Wilshere and Ryo Miyaichi to make short-term moves to continue their development, and Afobe looks set to continue that trend.

The Trotters have already signed Keith Andrews, Matt Mills, Joe McKee and Andy Lonergan this summer as they prepare to mount a promotion push.

However experienced campaigners such as Jussi Jaaskelainen, Nigel Reo-Coker, Ivan Klasnic, Gretar Steinsson and Paul Robinson have all left the club following their relegation.
