Hull sign German striker Proschwitz

Hull City have signed German striker Nick Proschwitz from Bundesliga Division 2 club SC Paderbon 07 for £2.6m. The 25-year-old has joined the Championship club on a three-year deal.

Proschwitz was joint top scorer in German football's second tier last season with 17 league goals. He has also played for the Hoffenheim, Hamburg, Wolfsburg and Hannover reserve teams.

In the 2009-10 season, he played for Swiss second tier club Vaduz, scoring 23 goals in 29 appearances. He went on to play for two more clubs in Switzerland, FC Thun and FC Luzern.

Hull boss Steve Bruce said: "He's big, strong and powerful, and he'll give us a physical presence that I think you need in this league."
