Leeds land Jamaican international Austin

Leeds United look set to sign SK Brann midfielder Rodolph Austin for an undisclosed fee.

SK Brann released the news of Austin’s departure by thanking him for his achievements; the midfielder scored 13 goals in 83 appearances for the Norwegian side.

A fee is believed to have been agreed between the two clubs, and the completion of the transfer is subject to a medical.

Leeds manager Neil Warnock has long been a fan of the 27-year-old and had a transfer bid for Austin (pictured) rejected in January 2011, when Warnock was still manager of Queens Park Rangers.

The Leeds boss is continuing to improve his squad after a disappointing campaign last season, which saw the side he inherited from Simon Grayson finish 14th in the Championship.

The Jamaican international becomes Warnock’s fifth summer signing as he joins Paddy Kenny, Paul Green, Adam Drury and Jason Pearce at Elland Road.
