Leeds United takeover bid collapses

A proposed deal to buy Leeds United has collapsed.

Leeds United Supporters Trust have said that after two months of negotiations, the takeover bid has broken down.

LSUT, believed to include Middle East investors, have been in talks with Leeds owner and chairman Ken Bates.

Manager Neil Warnock is looking to bring in a new striker, and Robbie Rogers, Danny Pugh, Billy Paynter, Paul Rachubka, Paul Connolly and Ramon Nunez have all been added to the transfer list.

"You have to look at what you can do,” said Warnock. “We're looking at forward players and it might be that we have to move one or two on."
