McCarthy rules himself out of Forest role

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy has ruled himself out of the vacant Nottingham Forest manager's role.

After being dismissed by Wolves in February, McCarthy has yet to return to management and with history in the Midlands, he had appeared to be a likely candidate to replace Steve Cotterill after his sacking last week.

There are numerous candidates in the running for the Forest job, including Darren Ferguson, Roy Keane, Glenn Hoddle and Sven Goran-Eriksson.
