Suarez set to return for Liverpool

Luis Suarez could be involved for Liverpool in their Europa League third qualifying round second leg clash against Gomel at Anfield on Thursday evening (kick-off 8.05pm).

The Uruguayan, who has signed a new long-term contract, could return after representing his country at the Olympics.

Liverpool are 1-0 up after the first leg after Stewart Downing scored the only goal of the game in Belarus last week.

Goalkeeper Jose Reina could also be involved after he missed the first leg, following a delay in returning to pre-season training.

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva looks set to feature in Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers' first competitive game in charge at Anfield.

The 25-year-old ended last season early after suffering a knee injury in November.

"I think it will be a special moment for me when I go to warm up at Anfield or if I come on because I have been out a long time and watching from the stands," said Lucas.
