Joe Cole puts himself in the frame for Team GB

Joe Cole would relish the chance of being a part of the 2012 GB Olympics team.

He said: "I would love to play in it. I would be very excited because it is in east London where I started my career."

Cole started his career at West Ham under Harry Redknapp among a stunning line-up of teenagers that included Michael Carrick and Frank Lampard.

Some may say that West Ham wouldn't have faced their current crisis if they had kept hold of 'Harry's dream team'.

Cole was reunited with Frank Lampard when he joined Chelsea, where he had a successful career of 184 appearances, scoring 28 goals.

Cole then joined Liverpool and is currently on loan at Lille.
