Kyle Walker PFA betting closed after big wager

Bookmakers William Hill have closed the book on PFA Young Player of the Year bets after Kyle Walker was backed in from 33/1 outsider to 5/6 to scoop the award.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was when a punter in Leeds entered a William Hill shop asking to place £1,200 on the Tottenham right back.

“This is a market in which the outcome is predetermined and the majority of punters who want a genuine bet outweigh those who already know who has won," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

"Unfortunately we think we may have inadvertently found out the winner of the Young Player of the Year.”
